AiM WEAPONS GRADE CLP OVERVIEW 1

AiM WEAPONS GRADE CLP

What is it and how does it work?

AiM Weapons Grade CLP gun lube is very effective for maintaining weapons. The kit includes two bottles of AiM CLP, each with a different applicator – one a needle tip and one a sprayer.  We have gunsmiths and shooters who use both applicators for different purposes and find both very useful.

AiM CLP consists of bio-synthetic active ingredients in a light mineral oil base.  The combined outcome is a non-toxic, non-hazardous product that penetrates and cleans while also lubricating and protecting.

It will penetrate carbon deposits, including rust, and bond directly to the metal as a micro-layer. It tenaciously provides lubrication and protection from water, dirt, and corrosion.  A little bit goes a long way.

AiM CLP is attracted to heat.  We have auto mechanics who heat up a bolt to red hot and spray a variant of AIM CLP on the bolt. AIM penetrates deeper into the metal as it cools like a solder joint.  It penetrates over an inch in 20 minutes using that method. AiM CLP differs from the industrial version of AiM in that it has more lubrication components and fewer penetrating components.  You still get the same effect: slower penetration but longer-lasting lubrication.  As heat is generated in the gun, AiM CLP moves toward the heat to reduce friction and wear.

Most CLPs are solvents but poor lubricants - they clean but provide little lubrication.  Some CLPs focus on lubrication but won't clean.  AiM CLP is different because it cleans by penetrating through carbon and deposits to the metal surface and then bonds to the metal surface to both lubricate and protect against rust and corrosion.  It also helps prevent carbon and other materials from building on gun parts.

A primary lubricating issue in guns is boundary lubrication.  AiM CLP effectively reduces friction and wear by employing nano-additives that bond directly to the metal surface. The wear that occurs is to the nanoparticles of the lubricant that get quickly replaced by other nanoparticles from the lubricant because of its penetrating capability.  The microscopic surface remains active during shooting and even after shooting.  That protective layer prevents carbon and contaminants from building up in the weapon, even in notoriously dirty suppressors after a thorough shoot. Cleanup following a shoot with suppressors is easier when a protective layer resists carbon and contaminant buildup.

AiM CLP has very low surface tension, and it carries active ingredients into the micro spaces of the weapon's metal surfaces.  This penetrating capability allows AiM CLP to penetrate a jammed casing for quick removal.  These properties enable shotgun honing to take fewer steps and achieve better outcomes.

Another property critical to Arms owners is the ability to store their weapons and not get rust or corrosion forming.

AiM CLP provides protection from rust through its nano-lubricant bonded directly to the surface of the guns.  Moisture cannot penetrate the continuous microlayer of lubricant.  Because AiM CLP does not dry out, the protection is long-lasting.  The nanolayer makes AiM CLP different in many respects from other gun lubes. One might assume that the lubricant must attract dust and dirt if it does not dry out.  However, The opposite occurs due to AiM working on a microscopic level. After 10 or 15 minutes, the gun can be wiped with a cloth to remove excess AiM CLP. A nanolayer remains in full force. The layer is so small it does not attract dirt and dust.

What are users saying about AiM Weapons Grade CLP?

A few quick stories might help you understand the benefits of using AIM Weapons Grade CLP.

A Desert Eagle 44 gun owner in St George had a plugged gas port.  After receiving AiM CLP as a Christmas gift, he dripped some AIM on the gas port and let it sit overnight.  The next day, he dripped a few more drops and found that it was coming through the gas port.  It had penetrated the carbon plug and cleaned it out.  He had tried all kinds of remedies and products unsuccessfully.  He reported that it was very impressive and that he now uses AiM CLP routinely.

Dale Poling, owner of Elite Iron (EliteIron.com) and a competitive shooter, has stopped using all other gun lube products and uses AiM CLP exclusively.  At one competition, he reported: "I shot 797 rounds using PlanetSafe AiM, and the gun performed flawlessly with no hiccups or jams at all. I would say to all shooters that they need to try this stuff because you are not going to believe how well your gun is going to function. This stuff is absolutely amazing. It goes everywhere that it needs to go."

Dale manufactures suppressors.  He uses AiM CLP in the spray bottle to treat his suppressor before he shoots.  He reports that he has never seen any lube keep a suppressor cleaner during a shoot.  After the shoot, cleanup is much easier.

Just before the 2017 Shot Show, Dale reported a competition shooting experience in 5-degree weather in Montana with some friends.  After each shot about 400 rounds, his friends had jamming issues with their weapons.  During a time-out, Dale used his propane torch to heat the bolts of his friend's weapons and clean them with brake cleaner.  He then treated their guns with a few drops of AIM CLP.  They resumed their shooting, and none of the guns jammed again.  His Rifle worked flawlessly the entire time.

Dale also likes that while in the middle of rounds, he can apply AiM CLP to his gun, and it will not cause a buildup of residue or dirt.

He has found that other lubes cause a great deal of buildup and accumulation of carbon and debris. AiM CLP does not, which is a big selling point for Dale.

Many more sport shooters have decided AiM CLP was for them after simply trying a few drops on their weapons during practice shoots with Dale. Experience has shown that once a shooter gives AiM CLP a try, they become a user.

AiM CLP will also meet your needs as a lubricant with your reloading equipment.

One gunsmith and reloading aficionado used AiM CLP and reported that AiM CLP is at least five times more effective than the lubricant that came with the reloading equipment.

A word of caution.  There are stories of shooters who thought that using a "big name" industrial solvent to spray down their weapon each night would provide a smooth working weapon and extend the time between in-depth cleaning. However, a penetrating lubricant can render a primer useless if large amounts of penetrating liquid are applied to live ammo.  Remove all ammo from the weapon before applying any lubricant.

The residual AiM CLP gun lube remaining on the weapon after cleaning is insufficient to penetrate the ammo primer. Do not apply lubricant directly on live ammo.
